It's been a good week for scrapping . . .

For some reason, I have been cranking through projects recently.  The hubby was studying for the Junior Captain's test for the Fire Department which left me on my own, how sad . . . not really.

So here are a few completed projects - most of the product is from my lovely Cocoa Daisy kits since I rarely drive the 45 mins to the scrapbook store - how sad is it that I live in the 4th largest city in the US and still no close store?  Oh well, probably good for the budget.

This is is a layout using some old October Afternoon paper from the Rocket Boy collection and then two new sheets from Elle's Studio along with a journaling spot from Dear Lizzy's Lucky Charm that happened to match perfectly.  The mask was a little gift from the hospital as a way for the kids to celebrate Halloween.  I made my own diagonal lines on the bottom left with scraps of paper so the hospital bracelet would show up a little more.

Don't you love that Elle's studio paper? In some ways it was hard to use cause of the horizontal elements - but these three photos worked after I trimmed them down from 4 x 6.  Arrow paper is Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm, pink is the b-side of the October Afternoon butterfly paper and the yellow paper is an old scrap of Lily Bee.

Had fun with the doilies and sequins that were in my last kit - misted the doilies with Heidi Swapp gold lame mist.  Letter stickers are from the Lucky Charm sticker sheet and the 2 is from the Crate Paper The Pier embellishment pack.

Also misted the wood veneer - that was messy - but it turned out well after I blotted it with a paper towel to tone down the color a bit.  Arrow is also Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm.

This page screams summer!  I love the colors. I cut the top off of this Elle's studio sheet and then added a bunch of embellishments - Studio Calico Sticker, KI Memories Stickers, and some more Elle's Studio.  A little washi, pop dots and some yellow Jillibean stickers and I was done.

More of the same on the bottom right to balance it out. Tiny grey strip pf paper is from Basic Gray's hispter line. I was trying to find something to "match" the gray and white strip across the top. Hope it works.

Have a great weekend.  We are watching movies and eating junk food today - ssshhhhhh!  Don't tell anyone.

Some Actual Layouts!

Finally getting around to posting some actual layouts here.

First up is an Easter Layout.  Photos are from last year's Easter. We have been going to our "farm" in East Texas each year, just like we went to my great-grandmother's place or "the country" as we called it when I was little.  So fun to keep up this tradition. We skip all of the Easter crazy and just run away to the woods for the weekend. It is truly delightful. We dye eggs and hunt them in the yard in front of the house.  It's heavenly to me and the kids seem to love it too. I took a ton of photos perched on the porch with the "big lens" as we all refer to it, but of all the shots, these are my favorites. I love the motion you get from Wyatt leaning and the swing of Elsie's skirt. You can just feel the energy, the excitement, the thrill of the hunt. Paper is mostly by Crate Paper but is is rather old. I was inspired to make this page for some reason when my Cocoa Daisy Kit appeared and contained these adorable little bottle cap embellishments from Basic Grey.  Then it just flew together from there.

This page literally fell together when I pulled out this scrap by KI Memories. I just love the colors of that flashback collection. It is simple, I know, but I really like it for some reason. Had fun with the matching Polaroid frame - putting it on pop dots.

A page I've had done forever, but for some reason never posted.  Was enamored with that butterfly paper, but it is intimidating to use.  So I cut it into strips and then I made progress.  Pulled in some old Jillibean, a piece of paper from Hobby Lobby and some Martha Stewart flowers and added some little bits and pieces to round it out.

So this is a page that has been sitting around FOREVER, waiting to be done.  It is actually from a class that Shimelle posted on the UK scrapppers blog last year or maybe it was the year before called "And Now for Something Completely Different."  I had the paper, I had pictures, I had the stuff, I simply needed to find and reprint the photos smaller since they were originally printed 4 x 4.  So I finally did it and it turned out great and I am glad it is finished. Crazy how things can just sit and sit and sit and get moved from place to place to place around the scraproom.  Almost all of the supplies are from an old line from October Afternoon.

This is the second year that we have participated in the City Solve Urban Race. Honestly, It is a scavenger hunt for grownups and it is so much fun. You dress up and run around town searching for the answers to clues. We had a great time and we even dressed up as super heros. I mean, how bad could it be if you get to dress up like Wonder Woman? Paper is mostly from Cocoa Daisy kits. Especially love this piece from Elle's Studio and knew it was perfect for this photo. The City Solve logo is from the bibs we had to wear during the race. I went a little crazy and even tried a little misting.

Ok - off to make more!  Hope you enjoyed these.
