Project Life Week 10

Here we go - Project Life Week 10

Had fun this week with some Ki Memories "Flashback" Collection and Dear Lizzy paper.  So happy to see Ki Memories back in action.

Left side.  Still sticking with the same ole title card layout.  Making me very happy to have that uniformity and gives me an easy start to things.  Font is still blossom on the Revolution by Quikutz - now Lifestyle Crafts.

Ki Memories Flashback Collection Visionary Paper.  Love all of the colors of this one. The red star paper is Dear Lizzy.  Also used lots of the Ki Memories Flashback Little Things 12 x 2 sticker sheet. That is one happy sheet of stickers.

Love it when my computer decides to give me grief.  I had to capture the moment cause I hope that one day all of these issues will go away and this will be hilarious - like floppy disks or commodore 64s are now.  The usual weekly summary card with the rundown of the weeks events.  More Ki Memories stickers and Dear Lizzy paper and then some old Sassfrass green letter stickers.  Some washi from Michael's.

Our friend had a baby and like any good wife I was charged with the baby gift.  The Hello My Name is card is cut from the Dear Lizzy paper.  We love craisins - in fact I don't think we can eat a meal without them.  Wanted to capture that and remember the gigantic bag we have - usually a purchase from COSTCO by my mother who feeds our habit.  Paper under that is more Dear Lizzy and the washi and a Ki Memories hexagon sticker.

Cut a simple flag from the Dear Lizzy paper and then added a sticker from the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm sticker book.

And now, I start to reveal way too much about myself - the facts - I don't do rides, ferris wheels or anything that involves a carnival type attendant.  While in line for the ferris wheel (that I was completely not planning on getting onto) Wyatt decides there is an immediate need to go potty. Ugh.  Elsie goes on with her friends and Wyatt and I go to the potty.  We miss the ride and I have to promise to go on it with him in order to go home.  So on the way out, we go, all of us, yes, including me.  It was awful - but after a few spins above the city, I muster up the courage to bust out my iphone and take a couple of shots - including a self portrait to capture my "sheer joy" of this event.  And there you have it - such a lovely photo of me isn't it?

Raised some money for a new building on campus (with the help of lots of folks) and to celebrate the donors took us to Brennan's for lunch complete with a champagne toast - and yes, I snuck out my phone and took a photo of the champagne bucket - don't laugh, you would have done it too.   Washi with Ki Memories stickers - hearts and hexagon on top.

More Dear Lizzy goodness here.  Just a favorite quote of the week.  Trying hard to capture these.  Man, they slip out of my head so quickly.

The note that came with my gift from our sweet donor.  She gave me a lovely owl wind chime (our mascot is the owl in case you were wondering).  More thoughts from the week on the other part of the Dear Lizzy 4x6 card cut out from the paper.

Elsie and Catherine performing at dinner one evening.  More Dear Lizzy stickers and some more washi.

More Ki Memories stickers. Just capturing a moment with the kids at our favorite coffee shop.  We sent this photo to my brother to say we were there - since it is absolute favorite place to be - hence the waving.

Back to the Brennan's lunch - Bananas foster - OMG so good.  I had the shrimp and grits for lunch - I am still dreaming about that.  Here's the menu in case you need a foodie fix.

The girls at the birthday party at the Downtown Aquarium.  That party lasted over four hours and was pretty amazing.  There was even a macaw that painted a picture for the birthday girl.

Project Life Week 9

Project Life Week 9 - making progress - I have had this one done for weeks and weeks and am finally getting things posted.  Love the bright colors of the Echo Park Photo Freedom line that we got in the February Cocoa Daisy Kit.

Left side

Right side

Title card - triangle paper is from Pebbles Walnut Grove collection and the red stripes are from Echo Park.

Picture of my helper for the morning - October Afternoon sticker and some yellow chevron washi.

More red stripe paper from Pebbles.  Blue letters are Jillibean Soup Alphabeans in diced denim.

A thank you note from a birthday party and a journaling card from this Echo Park paper.  This quote from Wyatt completely cracked me up.

Heart sticker is from this Studio Calico sheet - comes with a ton of arrows and hearts - nothing bad about that in my book.

Here is something you never want to have to document - Elsie got into a fight at school and the little girl scratched her face.  She was standing up for herself and then it got physical - never good.  More Jilllibean Soup letter stickers and some red washi from Michael's.  Paper is more Echo Park

Here is from a stop at the store to celebrate the new job for mommy - a little something for me and little something for them.  Echo Park paper and the arrow embellishment is from Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm.

Our building - Amy and I went over to the new building and Bill hooked us up with making our hand-prints in some cement.  A very cool thing to get to do.  I have the "paver" at home by the pool - it is huge, but I love it!

Yellow paper is Pebbles, a card from the Echo Park photo freedom paper, more red washi and Pebbles arrow paper.  The journaling spot is cut with this Spellbinders die.

Pink and white Enjoy Every Day card and Awesome Day cards Echo Park paper.  Took a photo of the new menu from Berryhill - our new favorite hangout.  We have always loved them, but now they built one closer to us, yeah!

This is Elsie at the Center for Contemporary Craft.  They do a free monthly craft project.  So much fun.  Cut a banner from the Pebbles paper and added some washi.

Just a little work for the Sunday school class.  I am forever sending an email about some group I am involved with.

Project Life Week 8

Week 8.  Can I say that I have had this collection of "It's the Little Things" papers from Fancy Pants so long that I could hardly find it anywhere?  So sad - I have held on to it for so long and I love it and now I am SO happy it is in an album.  I know I am not the only one who does this as I was listening to the Paperclipping Roundtable and they were talking about that on a recent episode - I think it was episode 156.

Left side
Right side

Title card - same ole thing.  Yellow is just cardstock.

Here is a photo from out Daisy Girl Scout meeting - we were playing the broom game - so much fun.  It is their all time favorite game.  You give everyone a number and they have to call the number, drop the broom and you have to catch the broom if they call your number.  If you call a number of someone who is already out then you are out.  Surprisingly fun.

I got a new job - here is the information on that.  And the typical this week card with the week's events.  Both of these are cut from the fancy pants paper.

Fancy Pants paper, some yellow woodgrain washi and a green ledger paper from the b-side of a Crate paper from the Fourteen collection which matched perfectly.

Yes, I take my camera to church.  They are used to me by now and even ask for my photos for the newsletter.  This is what I refer to as Elsie and her backup singers.  She has quite the voice and a lot of confidence.  Dress is handmade by Grandma!

Waiting for my tire to get fixed.  Liked the light in the room - fun shadows.

The story of the night the tooth fairy couldn't come to our house cause it was too windy.  I am so going to hell for that one.  Orange heart is the note from our TF.

This is what happens when they have pens in their rooms - it is a bad situation.  Wyatt drew on her belt with a pen.  Awesome, huh?  Good time tab is from October Afternoon - really old sticker sheet - I think the 5 and Dime collection.  More Fancy Pants for the Birdie.

Fancy Pants paper and Wyatt's card for reading at school - they get a stamp for each thing turned in.

More of the weekly activities on the grid paper.  More beautiful Fancy Pants. You can see why I've keep it so long - it is really lovely.

The kindergarten class.  The teacher sent us this photo and I printed it.  So nice to have these photos I wouldn't otherwise get.  Sticker is from a Cosmo Cricket sticker sheet called "odds and ends."

My cowboy and cowgirl.  Aren't they cute?  Yes, I made them pose before they went to school.  I have these same photos from when I was a kid.  It's fun to look back on - and us Texans love to dress up like cowboys!

Sneak Peek

So I appears that's I have 11 weeks of project life to post on the blog!  Goodness how did that happen?  So here's a sneak. I'm caught up, up to date, on a roll!  More soon.

So happy it is June and the crazy of April and May is behind me!

Project Life Week 7

Week 7 was all about the Crate Paper's line "Fourteen", I mean, Valentine's Day!  Love the colors of this line - pink, red and aqua!

Here's the left side which features the kid's valentines we made for school with a new Stampin Up heart stamp and full heart punch.

And the right side with lots of pictures from our trip to the Texas Rock Gym and a visit with Great Aunt Joy!

An insert to hold all of the cute valentines from this year - one side is for Wyatt's . . .

And one side is for Elsie's.

A few close ups.  Wyatt insisted on stamping all of his valentines by himself.  Thank goodness for clear blocks and washable ink!  He really did a great job.  He is so precise and particular - wonder where he gets that?  We had to stamp a lot, but we got what we needed.  Then he helped punch them out with the heart punch, glue them all on to the circles I had punched and glued all of that to the 4 x 4 square of incredibly old Stampin Up paper I had in my stash.  Label is from October Afternoon and hearts are punched out of Crate Paper with the heart to heart punch from Stampin Up (I think it is retired - I can't find a link).

Here is his completed Valentine.  Yellow letter stickers are from Jillibean Soup.  And a "this week" card with more Crate Paper and some washi I got at Michael's.

A cut apart card from one of the Crate Paper sheets and her Valentine.

I added a large card with the backs of each Valentine so I could display their handwriting.  I was going to do some washi and have them flip up, but I really like being able to see them easily.  The tag and the yellow strip of hearts are all cut from a sheet of Crate Paper.

Still sticking with my standard calendar card and week number cut from the Blossom font with my Revolution die cutter.  The banner is hand cut.

They got new shoes and were dying to show them off.  Same Crate Paper, washi and the sticker is from Stride Rite.

Ahhh, doesn't it just make you proud to be mommy when your kids arrive at your bedside with new tattoos while still in their pj's?  Thank goodness they are temporary.  On the right is a rare photo of me and the fireman - Elsie took it, nice work little girl.

Simple card with some Crate Paper goodness - in case you didn't yet realize that this was Valentine's week!

Quote of the week - these are fun cards to do and I find that since I am forgetting what they say so quickly I have to write it down immediately!  Some more Crate Paper for a filler card on the right.

A visit with our 90+ year old Aunt Joy.  Doesn't she look amazing?  I hadn't seen her in ages and the Texas Rock Gym was so close, that we called on our way there in the morning and stopped by to see her on the way home.  She gave the kids cookies - so of course now they love her too.  So good to see her.  The flag is from Jenni Bolin.

And there you have it - Week 7.  I actually finished Week 11 last night but I have been traveling so much it has been hard to get the pictures and post everything.  More soon. Wanting to actually make a 12 x 12 layout soon but all I have been able to muster is some project life.  The new job I started two weeks ago (in addition to the current job) is taking up a lot of my time + two conferences out of state is I can manage!
