Got some time today!

First let me say - thank you sweet husband for taking the kids for a little while so I could have a chance to think (and SCRAP!)  Heaven!

Here's my progress.  I made good use of my time.

There are more Hockey layouts than anything - I swear!

My little Mr. Handsome - love these two random shots

Just took this one while out for hubby's birthday dinner - such a fun page

Just finished this story about how we got our tree - hilarious story!
I made almost all of these with mostly supplies from my Cocoa Daisy Kits.  The "Our Tree Has Roots" was inspired by the most recent episode (#138) of The Paperclipping Rountable - goodness I love that podcast. It was about Christmas and featured Shimelle Laine and May Flaum - both favorites of mine.  So inspiring.

In progress around here

Lest you think I am slacking around here, I did pull this out to work on - yes, that's the beach album from this summer. Making progress!

And I finished these two from my Girl Scout troop reunion. Made these using goodies from the latest Cocoa Daisy kits.

Instead of scrapping . . .

Well, tis the season - and it is taking over my scrap space!!!
More soon!

Cocoa Daisy Online Crop the weekend - how to fit it in???

I am not sure how I am going to fit it in with the fall fair, a soccer game, soccer pictures and a date night with my hubby (maybe if I can find a babysitter - oh, if not . . . . )

Hope you will all join in the fun over at Cocoa Daisy!

In Progress

Well, this is page 1 of 4 left to complete Wyatt's first year album. Sigh! So excited. Half glued down. Hmmm. Needs a title and something???
Super old Cosmo Cricket and a few embellishments from a few past Cocoa Daisy kits. (American Crafts label holders and Studio Calico tags) It's coming together.

So many pages, so few posts

Well, there have been over 60 pages scrapped in the last three weeks and yes, not a single post. Two main projects - heritage album and finishing up Wyatt's first year album. Here's a few to start.

What We've Been Up To Around Here

This summer has been crazy busy but really really good.  We have been here:

Yes, we took our first kid free weekend trip (and yes, before you say anything, my kids are 4 and 5 1/2 - when you loose two family members to cancer and have littlee children and jobs and stuff you simply forget to make couple weekends a priority).  Thank GOD - and mean it, God, thank you, for Angelia and Dean and the free weekend of babysitting.  What a great trip to the Blair House Inn in Wimberley, TX.  And thanks to Diane and Caroll for the awesome "what the heck do we do in Wimberley" tips.

We have also been to the Beach - for a whole glorious week!  I was wonderful and the first full week off I have had in over a year.  Thanks Mom for hooking us all up with a beach house.  I am working on the album from that week.  Just ordered the rest of the pictures and the ones to catch me up on Project - thank you very much!  Only a few (cough 10 cough) weeks behind!

He's Four

Yes, I make my kids birthday cakes, not because I have to keep up anyone, but because 1.) They taste better 2.) I enjoy it and 3.) It reminds me of my mom's cakes when I was little and I still remember how cool it was to have a Holly Hobbie birthday cake made just for me.  Yep, you know the one, the shaped Wilton pan, an ingodly amount of star tip usage, yep, that one.  So here is my batman for my sweet four year old.  Made to order - with one slight change - he asked for pink sprinkles and I just could not do it, so we settled for blue.

Nearly at $24M raised - Job took over for a while

Well, I am close, so close I can taste it. When you are a fundraiser, it is all about a goal or a dollar amount or a project - my current position is everything all wrapped up in one.  I am within $1 million of the dream, the goal, the reality of a new building.  So, somethimes work just takes over.  I didn't create this blog to apologize, so here I am.  I post when I can and work like there is no tomorrow.

Now - back to scrapbooking.

Well, I have been a little busy . . . scrapping

Ok - brace yourself - this may take a while.  A few days ago I posted this to instagram

And now they look like this:

I made this LO, well, let's just say a really long time ago at LoneStar Scrapbook Store (which is out of business) when Elizabeth Kartchner came to teach a class (she was pregnant with Lola which is now like 2 yrs old!)  Anyway, it was a great LO and I have been waiting to find the perfect picture for it - Viola!
A close up - about her getting a new big girl bike - Barbie no less!
Based on a starting point from Shmielle's Hitchhiker Class at Two Peas

The finished LO - this has also been sitting for a while

Another from a sketch by - oh devil - I can't remember - will keep looking and update when I find it.
The title is for when I add another picture - but I can't make the scanner work to save my life this week.  Are you ready for this?

Yes, that's me!  Scary isn't it?

Well, goodness, that's a lot of photos.  I had better get to bed.  Elsie is sick and I have to figure out a plan for tomorrow.  She has a stomach bug - FUN!

Is the suspense killing you?

I figured not, but I laughed when I realized it has been a while sine I posted.  Whew - March and April as a fundraiser - not a quiet time.  Anyway - finally sat down and finished this one.  I used My Mind's Eye Lost and Found (brown checked), Fancy Pants Numbers (red b-side), Jillibean Soup (owls), Crate Paper (mini chevron), Sassafrass (border sticker), The Crafters Workshop Mini Chicken Wire stencil with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Graphite and some bakers twine.  All of this is from various Cocoa Daisy Kits - even the snowflakes.  Well, that sat way too long on the desk.  I have been "Project Life-ing" my tail off and an very proud to say, I only have three weeks to go AND I ordered pictures yesterday.  Ha!  More in a bit.

Not coming together - any ideas?

What am I am going to do with this one?

It needs something . . . where to put the title?  Where to put the journaling???

Going to bed.

Lazy Scrapbooking . . .

I say lazy cause these last few days I have just been using sketches and for right now that is where I am.  Some days there is just not enough energy at night to come up with someting new.  And you know what?  I am beyond happy with how these have come out so whoi cares.  I am not here to win a contest, just to get our memories down and have fun in the process.  So here you go.  The latest and whence they came - doing my best to give credit where credit is due:
From Challenge #1 on Shimelle dot com - orginal work from Jamie Warren

From the NSD Make and Take on the Two Peas blog - by Shimelle - she made eight pages with one kit - very impressive!

More from inspiration from Shimelle on the Glitter Girl Challenge at Two Peas.  Though I must admit to falling in love with this layout by a fellow scrapper.  Isnt her page amazing?

So that's it for now - I am working on something else and it is vexing me.  Posting a pick of that shortly.

Groooooovy Baby!!!!!

This spring has brought its share of exciting events.  My favorite so far?  The disco party we attended as a family where we won the costume contest. I mean, wouldn't you vote for this?

What you can't see is the awesome vintage zebra print pants suit that I am working.  It is hot!  At least our kids can't say that we don't know how to have fun or that we won't make utter fools of ourselves.  This project life page ought to be pretty interesting.

Been Busy! Let's Go Aero's

Well, aside from a trip to Vancouver for work, trying to raise the rest of the money for the building and keeping up with the kiddos, I can't think of what else has kept me so busy.  Making a summer schedule (will post that later this week), planning church movie nights, T-ball games, going to the last Hockey game of the season, working on project life, and the never-ending perpetual calendar project - oh, yes, that is what I have been doing.  So just a little pic from this weekend.  We went to the Aeros game with the Ervins and the Wills.  Good times, but it is rough to get home late on a Sunday.  Me with Wyatt and Brooke (Wyatt's birthday buddy).

I'm Challenged - Again

So I submitted for the challenge again over at Cocoa Daisy. I just couldn't resist.

Here is my latest submission.  I cut out the squares and added paper to the holes.  It was a fun project to do once I got over the fear of cutting into that lovely Sassafras paper.  The kits are so lovely.

They asked for a color combo name - so mine is:

Blush and Bashful and Luv Ya True Blue Tourquoise.  (and yes, that is a direct quote from Steel Magnolias - the blush and bashful part - goodness!  I love that movie - "My colors are blush and bashful.  I have chosen two very different shades of pink, one is MUCH darker than the other).

A Cocoa Daisy Challenge - WINNER!!!

Cocoa Daisy had this great challenge last month - to use the current kit and lots of other past kits - I had a blast making three layouts for the challenge and you know what?????  I won the challenge.  I feel like I won a million dollars.  And even though there was no monetary prize, just being on the CD blog was the best feeling ever.  I don't scrap for other people, but the CD community helps to spur me on and give me ideas and creative energy and inspiration.  The owner is so sweet and they hand write notes on the packing slips and send personal emails when you have a question.  Feels like you are part of this awesome family - the kind that always has room at the dinner table for extra guests and somehow manages to have pie and ice cream at the ready no matter what.  The Daisy's rock!  Check out the post at this link - I also pasted it below.

Hiya,
We had our second International Reveal this week. If you haven’t seen the galleries yet, you can do so by clicking here.

We also have some March Kit Prompts. Do you need some ideas to get you started on this months kit? For example, take a look at why Kim has been collecting the glassine envelopes that come in the new kit boxes.

Take a look at this post for some more inspiration using this months kit.

We have our first winner from the ‘Just For Fun – In with the new-Out with the old’ challenge. We are using our new kits along with the leftovers from the previous kit.

Iska totally rocked this challenge. Not only did she create this beautiful double page LO here.

But Iska then went on to make two more : ) Well done Iska and thank you for playing along.

We have another ‘Just For Fun’ challenge this month. Simply use your new ‘Pier 39′ March kit with any leftovers from last months kit. This month we are throwing in a little twist. We want you to stcik to a 2-4 colour combo and name what your combo is. Get creative with the colour names.

Here’s mine with the combo: Peppermint – Cinnamon – White

Visit this post for more details and upload your creations to play along. The challenge will run until April 13th.

Have fun with your new kit, it’s a beauty this month.
